How To Get Long And Healthy Hair | 5 Tips

The health of your skin and hair is largely dependent on the internal health of your body. Whatever diet you follow, reflects on the quality of the skin and hair. If your hair is healthy it will grow naturally. So considering the health of your hair is the most important thing when it comes to hair growth. Here are 5 tips on how to get long and healthy hair so that you can flaunt that mane!

1. Hot Oil Massage

Hot oil message is a well-known technique which is very beneficial for overall health of the hair. When oil is heated it penetrates faster into the hair roots thus making it more effective. Oils like castor oil helps in hair growth and adding that to your hot oil mixture will help to get long and healthy hair faster. 

A hot oil massage can be done with one type of oil or a combination of different oils mixed together. You can use olive oil, castor oil, almond oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil or any other oil which suits you, mix 2 to 3 oils together, heat them and apply on the roots and all over your hair. Leave on for 1 to 2 hours and then shampoo as usual. Use once or twice a week.

2. Remove Split Ends

Split ends are the ends of your hair that has gotten split into 2. When you don’t trim your hair for long periods of time or hair is too dry and frizzy then split ends tend to occur quite frequently. Split ends slows down the hair growth because the hair is dry and devoid of nourishment. When split ends are removed frequently, it helps to grow your hair faster. 

Make sure to remove them by trimming it off frequently so that hair ends looks fresh and the health is restored for long and healthy hair. Hot oil massage also helps with split ends. 

3. Moisturize Hair Ends

This is a very useful tip that I found online. When you don’t have the time to oil your hair but still need to moisturize because you have dry hair strands or the ends of your hair are dry, then apply oil on just the length of the hair except for the roots or just apply the oil on the tips of your hair at night. 

This will protect the hair when you shampoo and will create a moisture barrier and keep it soft and healthy which in turn helps to grow your hair faster. You can also leave on the oil on the ends throughout the day as it is not that oily when you apply a little bit oil on the ends of your hair.

4. Have A Healthy Diet

We all know that diet is a major thing when it comes to health and well-being. A healthy diet rich in protein and other nutritious food helps to achieve long and healthy hair faster. Foods like eggs, fish, soybean, leafy vegetables, almonds, walnuts, etc. are good for hair, skin and overall health of your body.

Having some soaked almonds and walnuts, having one boiled egg and including other nutritious food in your daily diet goes a long way in healthy hair which is strong and long at the same time.

5. Braid Your Hair At Night

If you have long hair then you know the struggles of de-tangling hair in the morning when you wake up! Braiding your hair when you go to sleep saves a lot of time in the morning and also it provides rest to your hair as there is less friction that way. When you sleep, your hair suffers a lot of friction as you keep on turning on your pillow so braiding helps to reduce that and also you have tangle free hair in the morning.

Than any other hairstyle, braiding keeps your hair stress free, provides less friction and is also less damaging and so you can also do this hairstyle through out the day as it keeps your hair healthy and head feeling lighter.
